Gardener/Groundsperson


Craggy Range is on the lookout for a hands-on Gardener to join our growing Giants Estate team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about horticulture, outdoor work, and maintaining exceptional grounds within one of New Zealand’s iconic luxury hospitality and wine destinations.

Working alongside our Head Gardener within a small and supportive team, you’ll help maintain and develop a range of gardens and outdoor spaces across the Giants Estate. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the maintenance and presentation of gardens, lawns, pathways, terraces, and outdoor spaces across the estate.
  • Harvesting fruit, vegetables, and herbs as required and delivering produce to the kitchen in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out general horticulture duties including planting, pruning, weeding, hedge trimming, mulching, watering, harvesting, spraying, and pest and disease control.
  • Assisting with turf maintenance, leaf clearing, rubbish collection, firewood supply, and general site upkeep.
  • Safely operating gardening equipment and supporting seasonal projects, functions, and events across the property.

What we’re looking for

  • Interest in gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
  • Interest in organic and sustainable gardening practices is highly regarded.
